Inventories Are Important!

According to an article by Landlord Today 'Alleged property damage, cleaning and redecoration are generally among the most common reasons for a dispute between landlords and tenants, which can sometimes end up involving an adjudication service.'

An inventory records the condition of a property with notes and photographic evidence, detailing fixtures and fittings and any contents.

It is good practice to have a detailed inventory completed at the start of a tenancy. This can then be used as evidence for any dilapidations at the end of your tenancy.  If there is a dispute a the end of a tenancy, failure to provide suitable evidence like an inventory may affect the outcome.
