An article by Landlor Today highlights how Landlords will now charge a 'Pet Rent' for the potential damage a pet can cause. 

Prior to the Tenants Fee Ban, landlords were able to take an additional deposit for pets to protect them against any damages. Now that deposits are capped at 5 weeks rent this can no longer be done. Therefore landlords are charing a higher rent for those with pets. This has been seen to be up to an additional £50 per month in some cases. (According to The Guardian)
