Tenant Activity Surge Expected Next Month
According to
No Letting Go they expect tenant activity to surge next month once the tenant fee ban has come into force.
The Tenant Fee Act officially becomes law on the 1st June, meaning tenants will avoid upfront fees and deposits will also be capped at 5 weeks rent.
From recent research this has suggested that most tenants will be delaying moves until after the 1st June so that they can avoid paying fees. Research has suggested there has been a decline in rental activity in the first quarter of 2019 yet this is expected to change after this month.
